Domestic Abuse is Everybody’s Business: Training Opportunity for Tameside Residents

TAMESIDE community members who take part in local community groups are invited to attend a free training which raises awareness and develops understanding of Domestic Abuse.

 

This full-day of online training is fully funded by Tameside MBC and is provided by Rock Pool, whose vision is to create a trauma-informed society.

 

The sessions aim to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse, making domestic abuse everybody’s business.

 

The sessions focus on:

 

•            Understanding the prevalence of Domestic Abuse and Violence

•             Understanding the complex issues that stop individuals disclosing

•             Understanding what stops those being abused leaving

•             Understanding the impact on children

•             Being able to recognise where there might be abuse

•             Being confident in how to respond and where to find support in Tameside. 

 

Tameside Council Executive Member for Population Health Cllr Eleanor Wills said: "This free Domestic Abuse training is an amazing opportunity for our communities to make domestic abuse everyone’s business.

"The training will allow residents who are involved to feel confident when contacting and recognising those in their community who may be experiencing emotional or physical violence at home. They will know exactly where to find the right support in Tameside for both adults and children.’’

 

To be eligible for this training participants must be community members who take part in community groups.
